A
merica
is beginning to read Zambian author Field Ruwe.
And so is the rest of the world. There are now two
novels on the market, and everyone is beginning to
notice them. Soon there will be three, then four,
and before you know it, there will be numerous
titles to choose from.
A
formidable and damning critique of imperial
societies, Field presents a paranoid view of the
world, in which the rich exploit the poor, and
global politics undermine the international status
quo. His protagonists are Africans who are thrown
into a web of intrigues, where they come face to
face with the realities of the world. In the end,
against all odds, they defeat seemingly superior
adversaries.
Despite
the controversy around his work, Field Ruwe is
first and foremost a journalist dedicated to his
work. He has no political ambition nor does he
devise his manuscripts under the influence of any
person or organization. He does not work for any
political party or intelligence organization. All
his novels are researched, with technical details
and physical and biological details.
From
an education in Zambia, England and America to a
professional background in radio and television
and advertising, Field Ruwe is moving quickly in
his literary career and is hard at work writing.
Despite
his varied interests and activities, Field leads a
quiet life in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He is
also a member of the National Writers Union.
