Twilight In The Morning By Theresa Lungu

This is the story of one young woman’s struggle to regain her life after her entire family is slain during the 1994 genocide of Rwanda. It tells of her pain and triumphs in her relationship with an American doctor whom she meets at the refugee camp where she works as a nurse, and of her quest to seek asylum in the United States.

Book Description
Denver Milestone is a pediatrician at a state hospital in Harlem, New York when he goes to work at a refugee camp in post-genocide Rwanda (Central Africa). His stay in Africa is life changing as he comes face-to-face with AIDS and poverty. Just when he begins to feel comfortable, he is critically wounded in a landmine ambush and is flown back to the United States.

Saara Rushimana is a Rwandan nurse at the refugee camp. Her entire family was murdered in the genocide, but she lives her challenged life with grace. When she seeks political asylum in the United States, little does she know that she will be thrown into a detention center and be made to endure prison like conditions.

This is the story of two people whose very different lives meet and intertwine in a tale of overwhelming tragedy, endurance and love.

Will Denver survive the attack? Can Saara find her husband’s family and tell them about the child she is carrying?

Read on.

Books For Zambia

Project By Theresa Lungu

Luanshya is a small town in Zambia (Central Africa) and had a population of 146,275 in the 1990 census.  Present day has a population of almost 500,000. Zambia has great economic and social problems. Top of the list being AIDS and poverty, and the population has its hands full trying to combat the two leaving other issues in the lurch.  The only library in Luanshya is dilapidated and has been plundered. These days school kids who wish to study there have to bring their own chairs to sit on and their own books, neither of which they can afford.

Today, I am appealing to each and everyone of you to help the people of Luanshya by donating used books to the Library. All kinds of books will do, reference books, novels, children's books, magazines, dictionaries, text books. As long as its a book. And yes even one book will make a difference! Please send that book and make a change in the lives of people whose mere survival is a great challenge
