CYNTHIA WOOS ZAMBIANS
TO THE PHILIPPINES
Zambians from around
the world are travelling to the Philippines
this weekend to support their favourite
Beauty Queen, Cynthia Kanema who is participating
in the Miss Earth 2005 Beauty Pageant, which
will be held in Manila on Sunday 23 October
2005.
In a joint statement,
the franchise holders of Miss Earth Zambia,
Perryfield Promotions and Chronis Entertainment,
said this is the first time that a Zambian
candidate to an international pageant will
have her own delegation to support her.
In the past, Zambian candidates have been
sent off to represent Zambia on their own,
while other countries have huge delegations,
including the media from their home countries.
Being alone at such big global gatherings
can have a very negative impact on the morale
and performance of the lone candidate.

“We had extended
an invitation to Zambians around the world
and we have had such an overwhelming response”,
said Sotiris Chronis of Chronis Entertainment
“We have received
confirmations of Zambians who will be travelling
from the UK, USA, Canada, Italy, Holland,
German, France, Monaco, South Africa and
of course Zambia, to support Cynthia in
the Philippines. We are also taking our
own Zambian TV and newspaper crew”, Said
Mr Chronis.

And Perryfield Promotions
Chief Executive, Justina Mutale said, “The
presence of a Zambian delegation in the
Philippines will boost Cynthia’s confidence
and morale, and increase her chances of
bringing the crown home”.

“The finals of the
Miss Earth 2005 Pageant will take place
on the eve of our 41st Independence Anniversary,
and I have no doubt that Cynthia will give
us a reason to extend Zambia’s 41st Independence
Celebrations to the Philippines”, says Mutale.
“I also know that
Zambians will make their presence felt in
the Philippines with such an impact that
the people of the Philippines will be compelled
to want to visit Zambia”, says Mutale
“Our friendliness,
vivacious spirit, charming nature and adventurous
attitude to life makes the Zambian people
the number one tourist attraction for our
country”, Mutale said.
