Does beauty come with a price?

Yes it does being beautiful in this age means being slim and having a model's body. To be classified as beautiful you have to maintain a beautiful body, dress up well and look after yourself. We live in an era where beauty is apparently hidden in "products" so to look a certain way, you have to eat, wear or do certain things! Beauty has a price tag on it....it does, it requires hard work and often = MONEY!!

What exactly is the model look?

Flat tummy, long legs, firm bun, good skin, good posture and an interesting face not necessarily beautiful.

Why do you think most teens want to have the model look?

The model look a fashionable, and

the most admirable look. Most teenagers

go through the

'ugly duckling' phase, so to be accepted

they sometimes go to extremes to try and

get the

'required' look! Teenagers are suckers

for acceptance and they feel they must

live according

to what's cool, according to standards

of influential people or the media.

How did you come to be a model?

It’s funny actually, we took my
granny for an eye operation in 1999
and a nurse at the hospital
asked me if I was a model. I said no,
but was rather ‘chuffed’ by the compliment
considering
the fact that I was wearing loose jeans and a
jumper with a hood! She told me about a good
agency in town and she thought I should call them.
My mum was pretty excited and encouraged
me even more by paying for my classes: got a
certificate
in a charm and beauty course, a
Diploma in Ramp techniques and an advanced
Diploma in the same.

Do models have to love themselves to death?
You have to love yourself to take care of yourself
but you shouldn’t forget to share that love with
those dearest to you. You love should yourself to
a point where you avoid lethal substances
like excess alcohol and drugs. Love yourself
enough not to death!

What is your perception about Big and
Beautiful models? Are they really just their size?
Somebody will have to model and market
clothes for fuller women, so I think big models
are just as important and attractive as the
skinny ones. They help fuller women believe
and know that big women can dress up and
look good too. Bigger models show society
that there’s nothing wrong with having little extra
flesh!

Models as celebrities should get involved
in projects that concentrate on boosting
people’s self esteems especially the youth.
They can use their celebrity status to organize
funds for the less fortunate without personally
getting involved. Not all models are
interested in this sort of thing and we
cannot force them to but they can be an
inspiration to others.

Are today’s catwalk models in your
opinion too skinny?
Yes………some of them look like twigs,
but not all of them though! It does look
like they are getting skinnier
sometimes, but there are those with
some average bodies still
gracing the catwalks.

In a hectic and competitive world
where is there time to maintain the
beauty tips and looks?
You have to make time, if you neglect
simple tips like cleansing, toning
moisturizing………etc,
your skin begins to look funny and you constantly
have a tired look which is bad coz no one
hires a model like that. It is a very competitive
world out there, the more reason why
maintenance of self is important.
