Margaret Nana Tandoh

I am a self starter myself. If there is no one to motivate you, you might as well start on your own. Otherwise, you wait forever.

This is heavenly. How would you describe your journey to reach this far?
 Challenging

Do you write the lyrics yourself?
 Yes I do

Who are your favorite gospel singers?
Yokanda Adams, Cece Winans, Clark Singers, Marvin Sapp,  Kim Burrell

What is your opinion about contemporary gospel music being played in night Clubs and discos?
I think it is such a good thing because it does not matter how the gospel is preached and whichever medium is used, as long as people get to hear it and what better way than when one is dancing!

Do you believe in self-starters or we all need to find a source of motivation?
I am a self starter myself. If there is no one to motivate you, you might as well start on your own. Otherwise, you wait forever.  David spoke to his own soul to encourage himself and said "Why are you downcast oh my Soul, put your hope in God". He did not wait to be encouraged, He encouraged himself.

Do you see yourself working with fellow Zambian musicians and teaching music or tapping talent in Zambia?
Yes at some stage I look forward to doing so.

Communication must be extremely vital for you are reaching out to people with a message of love, hope and purpose. As a voice and a woman what do you wish to share with women in music taking up leading roles?

Go for It!  The most important thing in life is to know your purpose.  If your purpose in life is to involves speaking to the public, then go for it.  If something is of God and ordained of him, then God will bless it and grant you the boldness as a woman.

Are you involved in any projects at church or in your community focused on empowering people? What do you think is lacking in our Zambian communities?

I have been away from Zambia for the last 8 years and so have lost track somewhat.  However I think what is lacking is the fact that they do not encourage the arts, and so people with an obvious artistic gift may not develop it until they are well into their teens. This compared to the western world hinders us from becoming experts in our fields.

I am involved in a lot of music projects in my local church and communities

Tell us more about your hopes and dreams.

Well I hope to start work on a second album this year.  Long-term I hope to develop the entertainment company in order to help upcoming artists

How did you come up with your own entertainment company and what are your expectations?

I came up with this entertainment initially in order to develop my music and God willing it should develop into one of the largest entertainment empires in the world

One of her main passions and true heart's desire in the area of music apart from singing as a soloist in promoting her new album are to be able to lead God's people into God's presence through praise and worship.  She seeks to see God's presence come down as she lifts God high in song and longs to see his presence bring deliverance, healing and salvation to people's lives.

Soon after secondary school (high school) Margaret Nana joined a local Pentecostal church (Northmead Assemblies of God), she was encouraged to sing and my, did she!  Her prayer when she became a Christian had been "Lord if only I could sing just so I can enjoy worshipping you in the privacy of my room". Little did she know that the Lord had bigger plans for her.
