<<<Black Muntu

Black Muntu have outdone themselves this time. With Kokoliko the duo have proved that they are definitely and unmistakably icons in the Zambian music arena. Kokoliko is a really hot album with 16 tracks that range from talking about AIDS to bachelorhood to what a party should be. On this album, Black Muntu extend the range of the languages they sing from their native tongues Bemba and Nyanja; Kokoliko also has songs in Tonga, Lozi and Lamba.  More

Chilu Lemba

I treat the persona Chilu Lemba as a brand, and realise that I am responsible for managing how the brand is perceived. I use the "ReleVation" theory to keep in check. It is a word that I coined so it isn't in the English Dictionary - well not yet that is :). I use it to help me remember three words: Relevant, Elevation (inspiration) and Revelation. As a communicator, Chilu must be relevant, elevate/inspire and his actions must be a revelation of his character and of essentially Christ in him. I have a whole series of sermons on ReleVation.More

Chisha Folotiya

I'd like to make Zambia's music industry one of the biggest in the continent. It will provide employment, government revenue, and value to our country. My dream is for the Zambian music industry to be as large and well respected as what they have in Zimbabwe, Senegal etc...

What is the concept of beauty?

Individuality is key. If a woman has her own style and wears it with confidence she is beautiful. It isn't about a dress size or a hair colour. It is about inner strength and confidence!..More

What first compelled you to write the book, Silent Whispers?

Silent Whispers was a product of my desire to validate myself and my ability to write. The spirit-character in the book evolved from my brief companionship with the movement for feminism while the main character was painted from my beliefs about love, companionship, truth, freedom, and to a certain extent justice. I laced the theme of the story with biotechnology by tinkering with cloning.  We've consumed plenty of things in Zambia - it's time we began putting out a lot of products. We need to manufacture and export. We got the brains, strength and will to do that! I would love to cooperate with investors that focus on these lines. You see, we are far more capable than merely being sales agents or producers of raw materials only! We are getting more confident. But we need to teach a lot more people basic business skills. Am happy in my own small way I contribute as a trainer for our national chamber of small business associations. More

As a woman, I have experienced quite a number of things in the music industry. One needs to have a good personality and most importantly you need to just be your self. It takes determination courage and trusting yourself and standing by virtues that will help you succeed.

You also need to be a positive thinker and close your ears from rumors. More

Margaret Nana Tandoh

I think what is lacking in our Zambian communities is the fact that we do not encourage the arts, and so people with an obvious artistic gift may not develop it until they are well into their teens. This compared to the western world hinders us from becoming experts in our fields. The most important thing in life is to know your purpose.  If your purpose in life is to involve speaking to the public, then go for it.  If something is of God and ordained of him, then God will bless it and grant you the boldness as a woman.
