Gospel Music

I am a Ph.D. Law Zambian Student at The University of Technology Sydney (U.T.S.), in New South Wales, Australia. I am  a Police Officer too (Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police in Zambia based at the Zambia Police Training College as Commandant.)

I am a Gospel Singer and I have produced seven CDs in Zambia, which have become like anthems on various Radio and TV Stations in Zambia.

|||Site News

What instruments do you play?

I play: Guitar Rhythm and Lead Guitar

- Lead Vocals

My initial plan was to only sing and record Gospel Songs for radio and television broadcasts, but the demand from the people to buy and have their own copies has been overwhelming. You may wish to know that this music is also receiving constant airplay on the following:

In Zambia: -Z.N.B.C.

-Radio Christian Voice and many other private Radio Stations within Zambia.

In South Africa: -SABC

In Swaziland: -Transworld Radio, Manzini.

Botswana: -Radio Botswana

Malawi: -Malawi Broadcasting Corporation

Zimbabwe: Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation

In the UK: -The B.B.C (African Services) -Radio Christian Voice International.

My advise to the youths is simply: Service and love your God in your youth when you are still strong in all areas.

Would you like to share with us your favorite scripture?

Favorite Scripture: Colossians 2:8

"See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ".

On Being a Police Officer:

My life as a Police Officer has been extremely Spiritually challenging and rewarding. It has enabled me to be strong in Jesus Christ and God the Father and the Holy Spirit. This is because I have been able to enforce the 10 Commandments of God, which basically what Police work is all about.

I joined the Zambia Police Service in 1983 as a Direct Entry Cadet Sub/Inspector. Through my Policing job, I have worked very hard in doing the very best of my service. I then decided to upgrade myself academically hence my progress as follows:

The Band I sing with is known as Posaba (Police Service Band) of the Zambia Police Training College, at Lilayi.

I compose all my music and some of the songs that have been liked by Zambians, Malawi Broadcasting Corporation, South African Broadcasting Corporation, the BBC and so on include "Tisekelele (A song about the birth of Jesus Christ), Musanditaye, Chipulumutso.

Achievements

My newly designed label is "African Gospel Sounds".

1991- I was admitted to the University of Zambia-School of Law

1995- I completed my first Law Degree (LLB)

1997- I completed my Master of Laws Degree at the University of Technology, Sydney (U.T.S.), and New South Wales, in Australia.

2001- I commenced my Ph.D. (Law) where I am focusing on how to resolve conflicts that have rocked the African region especially so in Central and Southern Africa. God willing I should be completing my Doctorate in 2003. So far I have advanced well in my Police career through the fear of God and as a result He has awarded me blessings through promotions up to my current rank of Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police.

I was recently honored and appointed by the New South Wales Government as an Advisor to the Commissioner of Police for the New South Wales, the first such appointment by an African in Australia.

-My Master of Law Degree was based on Intellectual Property Law, which therefore deals with breaches of Copyright Laws. Piracy of musical works is simply criminal and it is a pity that in many countries and Zambia the Copyright Law is very weak and needs urgent review. Piracy is a virus against the Country's economy. It is a crime and therefore, a sin to God.

*Formation and empowerment of a Government Department or Commission supported by an Act of Parliament, under the Ministry of Information or Ministry of Finance, which should formulate and review policies on all aspects of piracy in the nation. Such a body should have full powers of arrest.

*Sensitisation of other Law Enforcement Agencies such as the Police, the Zambia Revenue Authority. Anti Corruption Commission etc about the negative impact of piracy on the economy.
