THE
WISDOM OF THE POOR MAN
There
was a small country,
And few people lived in it,
And there came economic hardships upon it,
Which besieged it,
And built great bulwarks against it.
Now election time came,
And a poor but wise candidate was found in it,
Who by his wisdom, and integrity delivered the country,
Yet no man remembered that poor wise man.
Wisdom is better than strength or even money,
Nevertheless the poor man's wisdom is despised
And his words are not heard.
The words of wise men are heard
in quietness
More than the cry of him that rules among fools.
Wisdom is better than weapons of war;
It is better than amassing wealth
But one sinner destroys much good.
